WE would like to refer to WCM's letter, "Highway way too close for park lovers' comfort" (The Star, July 13).KL-Kuala Selangor Expressway Bhd (KLSEB) thanks the writer for his concern that "the new highway will cut through the Commonwealth Forest Park (CFP), inevitably destroying the flora and fauna of the protected forest" and "would effectively cut the park into half, thus depriving free passage for the movement of wild animals".
We would like to assure WCM that KLS Expressway will not cut through the park nor destroy the flora and fauna and deprive wild animals of free passage as the expressway's alignment from Kundang to Taman Rimba Templer is one kilometre away from the park.
We acknowledge the importance of the Commonwealth Forest Park and its contribution to commemorate the 14th Commonwealth Forest Conference in Kuala Lumpur in 1993 and its wild life, flora and fauna of the protected forest. Nevertheless, we thank WCM for his concern.
