Sunday June 7, 2009

GEORGE TOWN: A cute little boy in a suit made of palm leaves complete with a leafy headgear stole the hearts of judges at the Floral Fancy Dress competition held at the Penang Botanical Gardens yesterday.
Exotic looks: Young participants in the fancy dress competition parading their costumes made from leaves and flowers at the Penang Floral Fest 2009. The winner was Muhammad Ezdree (centre).

Five-year-old Muhamad Ezdree Haidy Md. Rosehadi, from the D'Ladybirds kindergarten in Pulau Tikus, was among five children aged between four and six who paraded in costumes made from different types of leaves and flowers to complement the "The Colourful World of Flora" competition theme.

The competition was part of the Penang Floral Fest 2009 which began on May 31 and ends today.

Second and third places went to Nur Farah Hidayu and Hani Erdina Batrisyia Md Rosehadi, both six, respectively.
