KOSMO! reported that an Indian national who frequently visited Malaysia and Singapore was arrested in Chennai after he was found smuggling 1,000 turtle hatchlings and 25 decorative fish.
Chennai Customs officers arrested Abdul Wahab at the Anna International Airport on June 4 when he was passing through the green lane.
The hatchlings were found in four red buckets while the fish were packed in a plastic bag inside the man's luggage.
Airport Customs commissioner R. Periasami was quoted as saying the fish and turtles were worth about RM6,700.
