RESIDENTS of Jalan 12/12 in Petaling Jaya are unhappy about two dogs living in an uninhabited house.
“If the dogs are strays, at least something can be done,” says an annoyed resident who declined to
be named.
“But they have an owner, who comes around to feed them.”
Despite having an owner, the dogs are not kept clean. Residents have complained to the Petaling
Jaya Municipal Council countless times, but no action has been taken.
The most the owner has done to clean up the place is to fling dog turds into the drain, causing a stench in the neighbourhood.
Saying that the dogs don’t seem to have any licence and that they have become a nuisance by barking every night, the residents hope the relevant authority will act to prevent further degradation and
suffering.
• RICHARD Yeoh, the local councillor responsible for Section 12 of Petaling Jaya, promised to look into the matter within this week.
“I will take a health inspector along and speak to the owner. If there really is an ongoing problem, we might have to send the dogs to a home or put them up for adoption.”
