Article: Zoo negara staff dress bright in Crocs

By Dhiya Amalina Zahari November 12, 2008 Categories: Your Community

Customer service, marketing and ticketing staff at Zoo Negara were treated with T-shirts and colourful footwear courtesy of Crocs recently.

Crocs Asia Pte Ltd regional sales manager Elenita Flores officially handed over the sponsored items to Malaysian Zoological Society chairman and president Datuk Ismail Hutson in a simple ceremony at the national zoo.

"As a non-profit organisation that depends on gate collections and sponsorships, we certainly welcome Crocs’ contribution that will help to alleviate our financial burden. The limited resources that we have can thus be used for the more important task of ensuring the welfare of our animals," said Datuk Ismail.

Bright yellow polo T-shirts embroidered with Zoo Negara’s new stylised logo imprinted at the back with silhouettes of animals and the ‘Towards a World Class Zoo’ tagline were given out as part of the Visit Zoo Negara Year in 2009.

The widely loved footwear, with its ‘cheese’-like holes, air vents and in striking colours, would certainly be a welcome addition to the wardrobe of the staff, who need to be on their feet all day.

"Crocs named the shoes after crocodiles because they are tough and strong animals. The Beach model weighs just 180 grams and has air vents and holes to keep the feet cool and odour-free, especially in hot, humid weather. The shoes dry quickly when wet and maintenance is also easy as it can be sterilised in bleach and water," says Elenita.

The ergonomically designed Beach was perfect for Zoo Negara staff, who previously had to use their own footwear to work.
