Sepang Municipal Council deputy director Abdul Razak Jaafar was shocked to hear Alvin Vong’s complaint about its stray dog catching contractor.
Abdul Razak told Malay Mail: “We do not have the authority to enter someone’s house.
“That would be trespassing and is not part of the procedure.
“We will only visit a dog owner’s house if we receive a complaint from the public,” he added.
Abdul Razak also assured Malay Mail that a full investigation would be undertaken and if found guilty, the Wet- Fine (M) Sdn Bhd’s contract with the Council would be terminated.
He added that the Municipal Council would compensate Alvin for his loss loss if the allegations were proven true.
The Sepang Municipal Council employs two contractors to catch stray dogs around the district.
These contractors are paid RM45 for each dog caught as well as an extra RM100 operation fee.
A total of 1,751 dogs have been caught by the contractors from January to August.
The contractors are told to keep the dogs for three days before putting them to sleep.
